i don't know how you could make dorn passive in bg 1. as he is still the only ee npc that will interrupt you when you don't want him to. mabey do what another mod did and move him to the mines and have his cutscene not start until you talk to him like neera.
But.. Dorn IS passive in BG1, though it is not immediately obvious to the player, I guess.
His cut scene gets 'activated' by talking to him in the Friendly Arm. If you leave him alone it won't ever trigger.
Yes, Dorn is passive in both BG1 and BG2. Rasaad is basically passive in BG1 as well, but he interferes when you fight the assassins in Nashkel. That's why I included an option to make him passive as well.

But getting to tell him that you really don't have time for his shitty proverbs is the best thing about him!
Hexxat's strength originates from her race (or special condition) rather than from her profession. Even as a mage she would be exceedingly strong and agile. But the general idea to shift primary attributes towards the newly chosen class sounds good.
if she had 17 strength, with three points shifted to INT, it would still mean she's exceptionally strong, especially seeing how her portrait suggests a slender physique
or, perhaps, two points shifted from STR to INT (16), or, perhaps 1 from STR and DEX to keep them both at the same value
I really like what you did to unlock the NPC items. It's frustrating to miss on several good items because you didn't recruit a NPC. But it seems your 'restoration' list is incomplete. At least that's what I can tell from comparing your readme and this list.

Yeah, looks like I missed a couple of items. From what I can see the following stuff could potentially be restored as well:
Dorn:
- Wand of Glitterdust
Neera:
- Robe of invocation
- Robe of Chaos Shield
- Tunic of Blindeye
- Wooden Horse necklace
- Green Dragon Potion
- Wand of spell striking
- Cloak of the Lich
- Kazrah´s shield
Rasaad:
- Cloak of unerrring strikes
- Shadow Dragon Scales
I hate that I'm going to use this, but there's been a bug since pre-2.5 that makes Neera and Rasaad's cutscenes crash the game. I need this just to be able to play the game.
So... I installed it and seemingly thought they wouldn't show up, but Dorn still shows up in the Friendly Arms Inn and Neera still initiates the confrontation in Beregost.

if anything i use this mod due to neera's bg2 trigger being wonky.

What gives?
@Verticor It depends on which components of the mod were installed. Can you post or attach your WeiDU.log?
The only thing I installed was removing all characters and not have the items available. But I tried installing it again. Now it works. Seemingly. I tried cheating my way to the areas, where the EE characters appear, and no one is in sight.
I'm working on a large install and have gotten further this time without errors. However, I've run into a problem with installing a BGEENPC portrait mod of all things.
The first mod that has failed to install is the Convenient Enhanced Edition NPCs v 4.0. @argent77. It failed on the component to switch to Baeloth's alternate version in BG2 only. Setup-a7-convenienteenpcs.debug contents behind the spoiler.

I'll assume that there will have to be some work, before it's compatible with 2.6?
I didn't have the time to perform a thorough check of my mods with the new patch yet. However, I did a quick installation test, and all of my mods installed without errors or warnings.
From what I've read in the patch notes it's unlikely that there will be serious issues with this mod. If there are potential issues then the option to change NPC classes might be the most probable candidate.
The only thing I installed was removing all characters and not have the items available. But I tried installing it again. Now it works. Seemingly. I tried cheating my way to the areas, where the EE characters appear, and no one is in sight.
Win.
100% agree. I'm halfway through my first BG2EE run with no EE NPCs. It's so refreshing to be able to actually play Shadows of Amn without getting ambushed by these buffoons.
I won't lie, though, I used the cheats to teleport to some of the better EE encounters just to blow them away and take the loot. Probably won't do it again, but I couldn't resist.
I'm curious. Let's say I disable the NPCs completely. Does the mod replace the areas with copies of the maps without the NPCs present, or does it remove them from the already existing map?
I'm curious. Let's say I disable the NPCs completely. Does the mod replace the areas with copies of the maps without the NPCs present, or does it remove them from the already existing map?
Disabling NPCs works only as long as you haven't visited the maps where these NPCs are spawned. The same is (mostly) true for items that are made available from disabled NPCs.
Disabling NPCs retroactively would only work by scanning and modifying your saved games. But this is something I'd rather not include in the mod. It's bound to mess up saves sooner or later.
However, making NPCs passive should work even if you already visited areas with the NPCs before.

I see. So, in theory, patches shouldn't really mess up a mod like this, unless major changes were made to character/map names or some such?
Not that it really matters, but this is a neat anecdote:
What Argent77 is true unless the map changes. For example, the first time I ever installed it was mid-game and as Argent77 said, the NPCs weren't removed. However after I freed the slaves in the Copper Coronet and they take over the bar, Clara was gone. Apparently when the map changed from the slavers to the freed slaves running the bar, the mod...took effect I guess? Not really important, but a neat fact.
I have installed the mod in Baldur's Gate 2. Unfortunately, the moonlight shoes were still only usable by Rassad. I looked up the reason for this and found the file item_use.2da. There are exclusive items listed. I tested this code:
ACTION_IF (GAME_IS ~bg2ee~) BEGIN
COPY_EXISTING ~item_use.2DA~ ~override~
PATCH_IF FILE_EXISTS_IN_GAME ~item_use.2DA~ THEN
BEGIN
REMOVE_2DA_ROW 21 1
END
END
I have installed the mod in Baldur's Gate 2. Unfortunately, the moonlight shoes were still only usable by Rassad. I looked up the reason for this and found the file item_use.2da.
Thank you for the report. I'll fix it in the next release.

Changelog:
I didn't have the time to perform a thorough check of my mods with the new patch yet. However, I did a quick installation test, and all of my mods installed without errors or warnings.
From what I've read in the patch notes it's unlikely that there will be serious issues with this mod. If there are potential issues then the option to change NPC classes might be the most probable candidate.
What Argent77 is true unless the map changes. For example, the first time I ever installed it was mid-game and as Argent77 said, the NPCs weren't removed. However after I freed the slaves in the Copper Coronet and they take over the bar, Clara was gone. Apparently when the map changed from the slavers to the freed slaves running the bar, the mod...took effect I guess? Not really important, but a neat fact.
And it works again.
Thank you for the report. I'll fix it in the next release.
