Disconnected from Host every 5 minutes?

Me and my friend are trying to play the multiplayer for BGII:EE, but when I'm hosting my friend gets disconnected from the host every 5 minutes or so, and when I try to connect to him, when he tries to host, it disconnects me as soon as I join the game. Anyone have any ideas to fix this problem?
