Newton Game Dynamics is physics engine for realistically simulating rigid bodies (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newton_Game_Dynamics , https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_Dynamics_Engine)
This could add some new spell combinations and ragdoll physics.
About level design. In Bloodborne there is one forest "Forbidden woods" which has outstanding asymmetrical level design (http://www.nerdgoblin.com/review-bloodbornes-forbidden-woods-brilliant-terrible/).
I would like that when you enter the area, you can't just walk through in linear way and straightforward sense.
There could be some perspective verticality and asymmetricity of the level.
