Modding rookie wants some help, please

Hey there, folks. I'm really sorry if I could have found this info elsewhere here, but I looked around and nothing stuck out as particularly useful to me, so I figured it wouldn't hurt if I bit the bullet and asked my queries here.

I'm a veteran of the original Black Isle versions of Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale, but those are a whole different kettle of fish to the Enhanced Editions, so before I try and mod my games, I wanted to ask some advice.

First of all, how can I actually install mods on BG EE? I have electronic copies of BG 1 EE and BG 2 EE both purchased through and installed from Steam on a Windows 10-operating PC. I just don't know how I can install the mods I have to these new EE versions of the games.

Secondly, the mods I'm most interested in are Unfinished Business (for BG 1 and BG 2) and Ascension (for ToB). Can these be installed on Enhanced Edition games?

In fact, do I even need to install these games? The big reason I install Unfinished Business is because it fixes a lot of glitches that shipped in the classic game, like being unable to complete Kagain's quest or the unreliability of counter-charming Glaicus in the De'Arnise Keep. Is there any reason to install either Unfinished Business or Ascension if you're playing Enhanced Edition?

Thirdly, what about the Edwin Romance mod? I'm admittedly only interested in it for the fixed Viconia romance ending, but still, is it compatible with EE?

Finally, on a different topic, are there any mods out there that add to or otherwise change endings? I know Ascension has an option for expanded endings, and as I said Edwin Romance has both some new Edwin endings and an alternate ending for romanced Viconia, but I was wondering if there any mods out there specifically focused on altering the ending, giving the amount of sound-tweaks and bug-fixes.
