Dorn romance, what if?

I've done the Dorn romance once already. PC chose godhood. I'm planning another runthrough with him in the party from BG1EE (and as much of SoD as he can be in, of course) but I'm wondering if I should bother romancing him and choosing mortality. Spoil away, I wanna know if it's worth the trouble.
