NPC portrait change Win10 Steam

So I'm trying to change Imoen's default portrait. I have Windows 10 with BG:EE on Steam. I have the three versions of the portrait it 24bit bitmap format with the proper sizes and such. I tried putting them in both the portraits folder in Documents, the override folder in the steam files, and both. EE Keeper sees the new portrait but the game shows a question mark. The file names are IMOENL.bmp, IMOENM.bmp, and IMOENS.bmp.

Does anyone have an idea what is wrong?

    Is it a Windows bitmap and not an OS/2? Is it RGB and not RLE?

    I guess I didn't I loaded the files into GIMP instead of Office Picture Manager or Paint and then exported them again and it worked. I guess the others didn't export it in the right format.
