PS:T Buying/getting/learning Mage spells

It can be bloody tricky getting new Mage spells in this game.
There are a variety of web-sites that identify who you can acquire spells from however most neglect to tell you that a mis-step in dialogue can close the opportunity off for the REMAINDER of the GAME!

As most are aware, a high Intelligence in BG type games will provide you opportunity to learn more spells.
Same with PS:T

Most who have played this game are also aware, a high Wisdom and high Intelligence score will provide the most experience and most dialogue options (leading to better choices available for accomplishing missions).
What may not be evident to all though, is that Charisma is key to sometimes opening dialogue opportunities in the first place.

With a low or even average Charisma, some folk won't even give you the time of day let-alone open their inventory to you.

I therefore HIGHLY recommend two things as a Mage, raise Charisma every chance you get during level-up and also learning the Mage spell "Friends" at earliest opportunity and keeping at least 2 memorized, every day.
With the "Friends" spell enacted, you raise your Charisma a variety of points (save and reload if you get a bad raise) so that your opportunity for beneficial dialogue is enhanced. As a side note, use this to decrease the cost of items at merchants as well, same as most BG games.

With a high Charisma, you will be given more dialogue options and with merchants, this will include access to their spell stores. There are a couple in the game that this is a necessity otherwise you won't even discover they HAVE spells to offer.

Sharing spells with your party members can also be tricky (Dak'kon and/or Ignus). For some spells, there is only one copy available. Ensure you wisely determine who gets it ( hint, ALWAYS YOU FIRST, if staying a Mage).

Finally, realize that some spell (and item) sellers will be closed off later in the game so if you have the money, get what you can, when you can. Best advice I can offer in this regard, sell everything you can before changing districts/wards and buy everything you can as well.
Money is useless, STUFF is what matters. See my "PS;T Thieving/Selling" thread in this regard.

You don't need to start a new bloody thread for everything you have to say about the game.
