Anyone noticed how ridiculously goofy their walking animation is, or is it just me?

    Well, it's a sort of extra-high-kicking goose-step. Real armies have been known to do something rather like that. In fact, there are a couple of cases where they still do - for example, I recall a video of the changing of the guard at official crossing-points on the Indo-Pakistan border, in which there really is some marching in a pretty similar style to the Amnian legionnaries. (No, I don't know why they do it.)

    It's to show how tough they are. It's really punishing on the legs, which is why most militaries stopped doing it.

    I noticed the first time that I ever played SoA how silly they looked, but I have had bajillions of SoA play throughs so I don't even notice anymore

    The biggest offender is they never use the sharp end of their spear
