Reduced area for inventary

What about a reduced area for inventary?
For combats should be very useful :)

    Not smaller inventory ^^
    Only reduced, not a full screen i mean xD so that you can see the battle while managing your items

    Oh.

    Hmm, not sure how this can be implemented though. It depends on how the new UI will look.

    Why change something, what works fine? I personally don't see the point of seeing the battlefield while being in the inventory screen.

    The new UI is going to be entirely soft-coded, so even if the devs don't do this, modders should be able to do it with ease. I have never felt the need for a smaller inventory screen, and if BG:EE allows for quick swapping between two-handed weapons, sword-and-shield, and dual-wielding, I'll be one more reason short to access my inventory during combat.

    What @AndreaColombo said with universal 4 weapon (combo a la IWD2?) quickslots and extended quickbar at bottom to show them all then I'd rarely ever need to reach inventory during a fight. Let's see how UI is at release.
