Oh my God. These stats.

So in all the years I've played Baldur's Gate, I never really realized I was 'cheating'. I've always played on Normal, I didn't know there was any other way. So I started reading, and you guys really spoiled me. Now all I want to do, all I could think about, is the no-reload Core rules way of playing -- randomly generated hitpoints, monsters doing full damage, permanent death for chunking, and (most importantly) when rolling Ability Scores not touching the + or - buttons. Basically just roll and what you get is what you get. Now, I'll allow myself a few rerolls, I thought. I don't want my Cavalier to have 12 STR after all.

So I stored my first stats (which were not bad, an 85: 16 STR, 14 DEX, 16 CON, 10 INT, 12 WIS, 17 CHA).

Then I hit the reroll button.

Once.

Not bad. Not bad at all.

ONWARD TO GLORY!

That's a really nice roll, the highest roll I've ever seen is 101, I say seen because I saw the number 101 popup but by that time I had already clicked re-roll again.

Oh man I would have died inside. I've never even seen three digits personally.

I've probably made anywhere from 5000 - 10000 characters in my bg time ( I've played a lot of custom made teams) and the highest I have seen to date is either 97 or 98, I have never seen 99 or higher yet for me and I've been playing this game since 1999

That's definitely one of the highest rolls I've seen, especially for only one reroll, nice one. I generally spend thirty minutes plus spamming reroll minimum.

Because of the way the game handles minimums, it's a lot easier or harder depending on what classes you generally play. For this paladin, the roll could have been a "3" for Charisma (a "humble" 84), but it gets adjusted to 17, 14 "free" stat points. Rangers have it easiest of all, with four minimum stats at 13 or 14 making it comparatively very easy to roll in the high 90s with them (rolling an 18 for intelligence and charisma means a 90 score minimum even if you rolled 3 in every other stat).

While I think I managed a 102 once with a Cleric/Ranger (naturally I rerolled because of the crappy strength percentile, *cough*), my "proudest" roll is definitely 99 for an Elven F/M/T.

Who then died in a bandit ambush at level 2.

I'm usually satisfied, after about five minutes of rerolling, to end up with an 84, since that's enough to give me three 18s if I move some points around.

98 on your second roll? That's something I've never experienced.

I've had a super lucky 96 on something like 20 clicks but this is some lottery level luck you got my friend :).

I have this all the time. That's why they should add "Return to previous roll" button

In my current campaign I've rolled two multiclass Fighters (Cleric and Rogue) with an extraordinary strength of 100. The other two have 88 and 98 (Wizard and Druid respectively).

But I never had a sum of 100 or more in any character.
