What effect do forum reactions have?

What do the "agree", "disagree" and "insightful" buttons do for your profile other than indicate what people think about specific posts? I assume they affect the points, but how? I'm especially interested in "disagree" since a few people have disagreed with me (which is great, discussion is good!), but I want to just make sure that my meaningless e-peen is not being negatively affected because of it :)

    I don't think Disagrees actually do anything to your profile.

    It does seem to have an effect on if your avatar on a specific post "shines" or not.

    It is my understanding that you get 1 point per "Agree", 1 point per "Insightful", and you lose 1 point per "Disagree". IIRC, @DanBoulos explained that you get 3 points per "Promote", when granted one by a moderator/dev.

    Agree = +1 point to the user and +1 point to the posts score.
    Disagree = Since a disagreement is highly subjective, this does not take away or add any points.
    Insightful = +1 point to the user and +1 point to the posts score.
    Promote (Moderators only) = +3 points to the user and + 5 points to the posts score.
