Yaga Shura base bug

I can't transition from lvl 1 to lvl 2 in Yaga Shura's bade; all 4 runes in place on central machine, I get the message that the way is now clear. When I try to go up the steps, I get the same message as before I put the runes in, basically saying I need to put the runes in the machine. The runes are no longer in my inventory. I've tried this twice, reloaded from previous saves. Updated iOS, still nothing.
