Skalds song active?

in Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition
I recently changed Garrick's kit to a skald. How do you know if the song is working? I am not seeing any differences in character screen or in the battle chat.

    If his bard song is working right, he would be giving your party members -2 armor class that would show up on your inventory screen. Whatever you used to change his kit, see if you can't alter his bard song as well.

    I have installed your mod, what am I looking for? I looked under the innate abilities and not finding anything. Using a saved game already

    I am not sure if there is an ability for skalds. Just their song change and reduced thaco. That's why I am questioning if it was even working
