Maybe extend BG2 beta period?

I think the beta for Baldur's Gate II should be extended by maybe a month longer than the beta for Baldur's Gate? As it currently stands the majority of reports are being made for the first game, which makes sense because it makes no sense to jump in to the second game and skip the first game when the second game is a continuation of the story from the first game.
Currently the majority of reports are for Baldur's Gate 1, especially feature requests, so I feel like we might be heading towards a situation where BG1 is well debugged and BG2 will be released in a much less mature state (Unless the devs working on both games are following the reports for the other product too).
Extending the beta period for the 2nd game will give players more time to complete the first game and jump in to the second game to begin providing feedback for it.
Edit: This wouldn't result in a delay for SoD and this would allow players to test the importing of SoD save games too.

One thing to keep in mind is though the majority of issues are indeed being reported for BG1, a large portion of the issues will be present across all IE games, like all UI related issues/bugs for example. So while the reports themselves focus primarily on BG1, the fixes and changes will be for every game affected.
That's not to say your concern is not legitimate, as not every bug is engine inclusive and are only present in a single game.
