November 30th: Doesn't It Ring a Bell?

"Remember, remember the 30th of November..."

For some reason, the new date Trent revealed yesterday sounded familiar to me for a while, yet I couldn't understand why. But while browsing Wikipedia, I came to the realization that the date Beamdog announced... wasn't there by chance. There's apparently a fairly meaningful reason for this, besides ironing out issues and squashing bugs. So, I've come to the conclusion that they decided to delay the game because:

Baldur's Gate 1, where EVERYTHING began, was released on...

:drumroll:

...yes, you got it: November 30th 1998! It's just a way to say "Happy Birthday!" to our beloved series! =)

Which makes me wonder: Will BG2:EE be released on September 24th 2013?

I'd say the delay was necessary, the date coincidental and merely icing on the cake.

Wow.... 1998. When i was running an AMD 800 machine. Which was a step up from my Intel P90.

So it's released on the 15th anniversary?

    That's pretty cool I guess.

Admittedly, that makes way more sense than "Oh noes, the UI is not ready!"

To which my reply is, "Can you click on it and cause things to happen as intended? If yes, give me my game!"

I doubt it's the reason they delayed it. It's definitely the reason they chose that particular date when deciding what date to delay it to though.
