Map unexplored/blacked out

Hi,
I upgraded my iMac directly from 10.6 to 10.11 and on doing so my save games disappeared. This issue has now been partially resolved, in that my save games have been restored and I can now load them from inside of the Baldur's Gate app. However, the map is completely unexplored (both the world map and area maps).
Apparently the initial disappearance of my save games was something to do with sandboxing and I had to move the files around in the Finder to get the BG:EE app to recognise them. Any ideas on why my maps have gone squiffy?

Although journal entries record my progress through the game, quests are not completed that should be... enemies that I had previously killed are still alive, conversations that I had already had are taking place again, and containers that I had previously looted are full again...
