Baldur's Gate II Marcus' Documents Problem

Basically, Ive pretty much done every side quest there is to do at the moment, including Watchers Keep, so starting over would be a last resort for me. Anyway, the problem is is that Ive just started working for the Shadow Guild and Edwin gave me the task of retrieving some documents from a merchant named Marcus in the Sea Bounty tavern. I went there and he wasnt there. I remember going in there before and killing him (not sure if he just attacked me outright or I talked with him). but I cant find the documents anywhere, not even in my item stache in the planar sphere. Is there any solution to this problem? or am I screwed?

    If you're really having issues spawning the item might be a solution, that's if you're sure you've killed him and have lost the docs.

    How would I go about spawning the item?

    To enable the Baldur's Gate 2 cheat console you have to modify your baldur.ini file by adding the line "Debug Mode=1" under the heading [Program Options]. Then save it

    Ctrl+Space then brings up the console in game.
    Type into the console:
    CLUAConsole:CreateItem("MISC4W")

    (MISC4W - Item code for the documents)
