No sound after patch 2.0

After patch 2.0, no sound is played after starting game on steam.
This is not always the case, sometimes closing and restarting the game solves this issue, so it's tolerable but still annoying.
This has not happened before (v1.3 that is) but introduced after 2.0

    same here. no sound in all IE games since 2.0. for me, this is 100% of the time.

    Win7 64bit Ult.
    i7 4790k
    r9 295x2
    16gb ram
    pcie ssd

    all drivers up-to-date (checked today).
    have tried using the standard mainboard sound and my HDMI display sound port, makes no difference.

    anyone going to address this issue ? sitting on four broken games here...this is not what I took the day off for.

    not like posting our speccs is going to make any difference lol. the issues lies with the game(-s), not our hardware.
