Hell Trials Rewards

Do all rewards still stack with gear? My evil fighter got +2 STR, but it doesn't seem to stack. But his +2 AC does, even if he shape changes via the Cloak of the Sewers. Sup with that?

    The description for most strength enhancing gear states that it sets your strength to a specific number. If your natural strength is higher than 19, equipping a belt of hill giant strength will reduce it to 19, for example.

    Yeah, but in vanilla BG2 the Hell Trials reward that boosted STR did so on top of whatever your gear set it to.

    That's pretty clearly a bug.

    If I am not mistaken, Hell trials in vanilla would give you a undispellable temporary buff to stats with permanent duration instead of modifying your actual stat score, which is why it would stack back then.
