I'll take public speaking, weighing myself or going to the doctor over that any day.
I don't think I can handle many faces looking at me talk, that's my main concern. LPing certainly doesn't give me any kind of problem (anymore that is). You get used to it eventually. Am pretty sure that it would be the same for public speeches but in the meanwhile... I'll keep it low profile
I play bass guitar mostly, but a little of everything I can get my hands on.
On a different note: people on these forums seem to have a pretty grim outlook, huh?
For those, they might have the usual nervousness of public speaking, but not about playing their instrument.
I'm not a virtuoso by any means, but I'm confident enough about my playing that the nervousness about going on stage is more of a kick than a kick in the stomach. I guess I find it comforting to do something that I enjoy when I'm up there, whereas with public speaking my nervousness only serves to make me extremely aware of how uncomfortable I am, which is a pretty vicious spiral...
