Can't select campaign at start

xerowingxerowing Member Posts: 5
It comes up with a window as soon as the cut scene ends and it has 3 options to select which campaign you want. The problem is no matter where I click that window will not close and I can't select any campaign from it. I just click and nothing happens. Any one with advice please tell me. If its a bug then beamdog should know about it because the game is unplayable in this state. Also my beamdog client says that it has limited connectivity and is unable to receive product updates so that might be part of this as well.

I found what is going on. If i move my cursor down and to the right of the screen then the options highlight and after i select one it still does the same thing. So the mouse and the collisions are not lining up with the graphics(sprites) of the options. I didn't bother trying the game because I assume it will be the same there. But basically i need to hover around in the bottom right of the screen and keep clicking and some stuff highlights and some doesn't.

This sounds amazingly close to a bad UI issue or some kind of modded UI?

Can you get a screen shot posted of this?

Are you certain you have absolutely no mods installed at all and/or that your base directory was clean of any modded content before installing? There's new information coming up that potentially old mods / files were not removed when downloading updated content...

Quote one of the QA guys:

"I just downloaded SoD in the Beamdog client and was surprised to find that my weidu.exe inside 00766 was NOT purged. 00766 was renamed to 00806 and the SoD content added, but without clearing the foreign file. That makes me think if NPC Project had been installed on BG:EE, the mod files are still in the SoD folder now.

Okay, so that means whatever people have inside their 1.5 year old installation of BG:EE will get pulled into the SoD install, right?"

If this sounds at all like a possibility to you, then the following is the suggestion:

"I guess the mode of operation for Beamdog client users is to tell them to delete the 806.status file, then launch the client and have a check file run to purge the mod content, then have them load their BG:EE final save and see if it still happens."

I had to install Beamdog client just to get this far. I should have a new 4tb hybrid hd so I assume it is as clean as it gets. I will try to send a screen shot of me highlighting a campaign at the start. Okay I tried taking a screen shot using print screen and it was completely black however I can see the UI in the game. So there was no mods and the screen shot didn't work. The message saying it had limited connectivity has disappeared so I assume it downloaded all the updates. Now the 3 options for selecting a campaign have disappeared but the collision detection is still way off to the right and down. I can't even select some options because they are off the screen.

Now it says it cant download the updates again and I am noticing that Beamdog client locks up a lot. It just stops responding. Can't click any thing and have to close it through the task manager and reopen it to use it for a little.

I just purchased Baldur's Gate: The Complete Saga and downloaded it from Steam today. I have not been able to play it yet because the three campaign options on the first menu are non-responsive. I have no mods installed. My system has a fresh install of Windows 10 and my graphics card is a GTX1060 with the latest drivers. Can anyone help me troubleshoot? Thanks.
