Question - Can I Delete Normal Baldur's Gate Now?

in Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear
I installed the new expansion. Now in my beamdog app, I see BG1, Siege of Dragonspire and BG2. I started a character in Siege of Dragonspire and he starts from Candlekeep. Can I go ahead and delete BG1?

    Oh! And i'm wanting to start a new character , fresh.

    You can. Apart from the SoD client having a different-looking UI and no "pre-generate character" button, I don't think there's enough of a difference that you'd want both the games installed.
