Can I play 1.4 again?

in Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition
I prefer 1.4. Is there a way I can play it again? I play on Windows 7 where I have an icon on the desktop to launch BGEE which I downloaded from Beamdog. If I delete everything and re-download it will it go through updates again until I get to 1.4 then I don't have to update again?

    I fear that if you uninstall and reinstall the game it will come as 2.0.

    It seems like the new UI is unpopular. It doesn't bother me too much. It took me five minutes to find my character's APR though...

    I'd imagine they might come with an update allowing us to use the old interface.

    There is a way, ask to beamdog a steam key, download the game there, then after installation there is an option that let you choose the version. Actually i like the changes, but of course not all the tastes are the same.

    Yes, it is the UI. I prefer "classic" BG. I've read that 1.4 (or is it 1.3?) doesn't work through Steam either.

    No way they even replaced cool tooltip with scroll when u move ur curson above item there is only silly window instead of rolling scroll with info -.-.

    I agree. The new UI is very obnoxious and just feels too modern. Same with the game menus. I miss the old scroll unfolding with sound effects and the old paper-worn item pages. There was a charming simplicity and a clear tone to them that the new interface lacks.

    And it's difficult for me to keep track of my stats when every time I pick up a new sword, the game feels the need to throw numbers all over the screen and block out my main THAC0 and damage. The devs seem to think black is better, when it actually comes across as pretentious and bland.
