Mods dont want peace

XzarXzar Member Posts: 215
So, my thread about reconciliation (https://forums.beamdog.com/discussion/comment/735060#Comment_735060) was, as I assume, hidden in mods-only subforum without any warning or explanation whatsoever.

What does it tell us? It tells us that

1. Beamdog wants to play big boss, order people around and tell them whats acceptable and what is not. It also tells us that non-liberals are not welcome here as customers.
2. Beamdog is content with continuing shitstorm. Either damage is not that serious yet, or they are determined to act priestly and teach those pesky right-wingers a lesson in morals even if it costs them bankruptcy.

    O_o

    ???

While I have NO idea what happened to your previous post, Let me help you with another interpretation:

There are at least a dozen different threads on this exact same topic with more spawning every few seconds.

This derth of "OMG POLITICS!" threads are actively hindering those of us spending VERY Long hours on the forums attempting to assist actual users of our products with their actual problems.

If your thread did get moved to a holding tank, there's much more likelihood of it being that then any nefarious conspiracy theories about beamdog wanting to play "big boss" or "liking" the continuing "shitstorm"...which, btw, I'm absolutely CERTAIN would calm down and still IMMEDIATELY by having someone from Beamdog post back to your thread? Are you claiming to be the conscience of the community now? Was there an election for you as spokesman that I missed?

Believe me as I assure you that your (or anyone else's) personal political ideology isn't even a blip on anyone's radar around here. We honestly don't care if you're a conservative, liberal, democrat, repulblican, libertarian or green party candidate. We DO care that you're a customer of our games, we care if you're unhappy as a customer of our products, and we'd like to help you however we can in making a product you enjoy. That said I see nothing actionable in any part of this thread as to how we can help make SoD as it stands right now a product that you'll enjoy.

As such, we'd like to go back to the job of helping those who do have actionable requests to ensure the best customer support we can provide. When too many threads on any given topic are spawning in to an area we're actively working in to provide support, those threads become a hinderance to us providing the best customer support we can. When that happens, we move threads that are redundant out of our working areas and into areas where they stop causing problems. If your thread was moved, I suspect this was the reason.

If you have any further concerns as to where your threads have gone, I recommend addressing them with Dee, our community forum manager.

To be fair, I would've closed it too. Not for any of the reasons you mention though, but because it's so dumb I was sure you were trolling with it.

If your company could just start talking to people like me, instead of belittling them and dismissing their arguments outright on basis of moralistic presumption, then yes, I'm sure this conflict would be resolved much faster. Not because I'm ambassador right now, but I could be him if YOU really wanted me to. Instead, you prefer me and other dissatisfied right-wing customers to hang around Gamergate camp, while it is in YOUR financial interest that I and persons like me be ambassadors of Beamdog in Gamergate, and not the other way around like it is now.

Don't like the game? Don't buy it or cash in your refund. It's pretty simple.

Brave words, but that means bankruptcy for Beamdog. This company cant allow to disenfranchise anyone.

I made a thread about Minsc's line to do with 'ethics in heroics adventuring'.
I felt the line was out of character for Minsc and I did not like him or the game being associated with any internet argument nonsense. I asked why it was put into the game and I asked if there was some way it could be removed, or changed to something more appropriate.
    The thread is gone now.
The thread wasn't uncivil. At least I wasn't. I felt that maybe one or too people went too far. But I don't see why it had to be closed. I just know why it was closed.

Beamdog, moderators, please, hear me out.

Maybe instead of a 'lock/hide threads' policy, you shouldn't put inflammatory messages in your game. What outcome was possibly conceived when this was added to the game? Be professional enough to not stoop to this sort of behaviour. And if you can't do that, be responsible for the outcome.

Edit: Sorry if this post seems aggressive. I don't know where else to go to voice my opinion but forums, and if threads are being locked because of their topic and replies then how am I supposed to voice my opinion?

The threads in question were sequestered because they were serving as a mouth-piece for more of the same problems that resulted in a number of threads being closed (whether or not that was their stated intention).

Feel free to start new discussions if you think they're necessary, although I believe both topics are now being discussed more civilly in other threads.
