Might be difficult, considering her desire to kill you for $$ in Tethyr Forest. :P
I guess they could add a post-scene to that small quest cameo where it is revealed that it was really a doppelganger bent on revenge (which I wouldn't mind more generally as that was my least favourite cameo which I pretty much avoid each time now). But otherwise it would be difficult considering what happens.
IIRC that whole scene was to troll a forum member.
The new characters aren't very compelling for me. I found the gnome and goblin incredibly irritating. I never used the bard in SoD, but I'll make the safe assumption that he wouldn't be as well written as Haer'Dalis. Corwin was rather bland and Mazzy can play the role of archer just fine.
I almost said Caelar, but she is mechanically too similar to Mazzy.
If they want to improve BG2 further, they should remove Hexxat and replace her with a thief that isn't a complete design disaster (i.e. maybe a shadow thief, for instance).

Ah, poor Safana, subjected to the whims of inter-forum politics (wonder why people weren't beating down BioWare's door for 'changing' her character then but the internet was a simpler, less hostile place then). Interesting information thanks
Captain is just another bland human, no thanks. Voghiln is an interesting skald so that's something. M’Khiin brings a lot to the table being the new kit and a difference race. Glint I haven't tried yet but more clerics and thieves would be very welcome in 2 plus more short people.
recruit Caelar Argent in Avernus after traveling there with the Planar Sphere. The idea is not mine, but after reading it I simply got mind-blown. Giving a sense to that damn sphere that CAN TRAVEL TO OTHER PLANES OF EXISTENCE (Don't you see the potential??) and recruiting Caelar would be like catching two birds with one stone!
As much as I love M'Khiin (a permanent resident of my SoD roster), I can see a lot of potential for Corwin in BG2.
I mean, first you have Neb. I could certainly him being her motivation for visiting Amn. Yes, Neb could kill her daughter, but I don't think that's needed. Corwin is a mother. The thought of a child killer escaping and running loose? She doesn't have to lose her own to be take that to heart.
Second, there's how they part ways in SoD (that's not a spoiler, we've known who the Scion* leaves SoD with since BG2). I don't think it's enough of an excuse to leave her daughter behind yet again, but I do think it's a strong enough excuse to get her to stay with the party.
Personally, I would prefer if Corwin's daughter survives the story, because I'm a sucker for the "Scion as a parent" concept. Actually, the concept of "family" at all as it applies to the Scion appeals to me in general. Corwin's case, however, is particularly powerful to my mind. Blood is a particularly sticky point for Bhaalspawn, after all. I could see the Scion loving Rohma all the more because they aren't blood related.
*Scion is my headcanon title for the main character. There are too many Bhaalspawn for that to be a unique identifier, but nobody but the main character gets singled out as the heir of Bhaal.
I would also be thrilled if Skie and Caelar were added to BG2. I've made my argument for Caelar before, so I won't repeat it. Skie's evolution over the course of SoD took her from being one of the most ignored characters in BG1 to being a very interesting character without really changing her. Even as she matures, she remains a spoiled princess and they do a good job of showing the two sides in conflict within her.
And, depending on how you read the finale, it's even more interesting. Is Skie actually a Bhaalspawn herself, like Imoen? Perhaps the Silvershields were forced to adopt to maintain the family line?As I've said earlier in this post, the concept of Scion and a family appeals to me, such that I have a very hard time not using Sarevok in ToB or Imoen in general. "You may have been a monster, brother, but we're all we have left." style of thing.
Skie as a sister would really be interesting, because the Scion can spend a lot of effort in SoD pushing her to grow up. Letting her actually achieve it would really be satisfying. At very least, I want them to add references to that dagger when Irenicus is mentioned, alongside Imoen's kidnapping and the Scion's torture.
