A question for any passing modders

Hi - I'm a long term BG fan and I filled the long years up until Beamdog came along I'd fill my fix for infinity engine by playing with various different mods.
I'm sure lots of modders are just playing the new content the same as anyone else, but I couldn't help but notice in the 2.0 release notes it talked about new stuff for modders. And I'm just curious about what this new stuff means in terms of what can be changed about the game - does the introduction of the Shaman class mean it's now easier to add new classes to the game? What new can be done with the stuff that's not hard-coded any more? What's now possible in the infinity engine that couldn't be done before? Is anyone working on anything cool already?

To be a bit more specific, in addition to developing a set of Shaman kits (Incarnates, for Subtledoctor's Faith and Powers mod), I'm currently investigating the possiblity of making a Summoner kit, similar to the one in Pathfinder. There is more stuff to play with though, and a lot of modders are playing around right now seeing where we can push the boundaries further.
