Gog 2.0 update - Just lost all save games

GeronGeron Member Posts: 16
Anything i've overlooked?

I've used the Gog client for the update (Mac version). After that they were all gone. It's not too bad since i only just started a new game. But still, other users might want to be aware of that.

Cheers.

This just happened to me as well. I found the save games, but I can't figure out how to get v 2.0 to recognize them.

For me, they were located in ~/Library/Containers/com.beamdog.baldursgateiienhancededition/Data/Documents/Baldur's Gate II Enhanced Edition/save

~/Library is usually hidden, so you might have to start Finder, and pick Go To Location and type "~/Library" in to make it visible.

If anyone figures how to get the game to open the saves, I would love to hear...

    OK - figured it out.

You need to copy the save files from:
    ~/Library/Containers/com.beamdog.baldursgateiienhancededition/Data/Documents/Baldur's Gate II Enhanced Edition/save

    to:
    ~/Documents/Baldur's Gate II Enhanced Edition/save

I have no freaking idea why that happened, but it seems like the game will recognize them just fine if you do it.

If you're having trouble finding the first directory, you can look up the name of one of your savegames (hopefully with something rather unique... like Umar Hills) using Spotlight.

    Good luck!

And I'm not so sure that this "update" is an improvement. I don't think I would have installed it if GoG Galaxy hadn't done it for me... and I might try and roll it back. Why does everything look so weird???

Hey, that's easily fixable in the options. I did that, turned all additional graphics off and i like what they've done with the engine.

Thx man! Incidentally i was somewhat happy that it did that, because it gave me one more reason (not that i really needed one) to play SoD first before i plunge into the world of BGII once more. I really hope these weird reviews of SoD are just plain misguided and have not much to do with the actual expansion.
