Fallen Paladins - Bug?

So far I have to say I am finding the BG EE experience to be inferior to Tutu. I already had to restart the game because the Legacy of Bhaal difficulty mode is not explained well (basically it is like HOF from IWD2, you need to be max level). Now I'm in the middle of the Nashkel mines and I discovered that somewhere along the way my reputation fell and my paladins aren't paladins anymore. I don't go around murdering people. And it would be nice to have KNOWN that my paladins lost their status so I could have immediately re-loaded the game. What with all the popup messages about the journal I wouldn't think it would be too difficult to let me know that 2 of my characters class basically changed. I'm *still* trying to figure out what I did to lose the rep. Two questions:
1. Does anyone know of bugs that cause you to lose rep? Or that would otherwise explain this?
2. Am I frankly better off playing Tutu? (BG1 in the BG2 engine for anyone who doesn't know) So far EE hasn't treated me all that well.
Thanks!
P.S.: I am not trying to imply blanket criticism of BG EE - if you're loving it, and it sounds like a lot of people are, good. I'm just wondering if my own frustrations are typical or at least not uncommon.

I've played Tutu but I never play paladins so I honestly don't know.
Regardless, there is no bug regardning rep, a lawful good paladin starts with 11 rep and with a good 4-5 quick quests and a few hundred gold to a temple that can easily be a 20 rep before nashkel.
If your rep has dropped, then you have killed someone innocent :P
Re: paladins falling, yes, it would be nice with all the changes they have made to let you know this info. After all, roleplaying aside, this is worse than character death. Dead characters can be brought back but there's no way to regain your paladin abilities.
Also, no, it is not at ALL obvious that LOB is not intended for a level 1 party. All of the other modes are intended to be playable by a level 1 party (though I find Insane to usually be more than I want to play on at lvl 1, it is still quite playable). The description clearly states that it is harder, sure; but it doesn't explain the intention of the mode at all.
you can do it with a Single LvL 1 and a lot of Cheese (like trap killing Elminster) which boosts you to lvl 5ish , allowing you to invite party member's at lvl 5ish themselves...but that leaves you with Normal Flawed NPC.
Best way to tackle LoB is making your own Black Pits Crew and Importing those suckers at max LvL.
and yes nothing on the Can says " for High chars Only !" but once 2 Kobolds mow your party down left and right you quickly Notice that this mode is not Intended for Low characters (i think its sad they removed the Bonus XP like in IWD ...you could do it there with a lvl 1 Party)
i stopped at the point trying to recruit viconia , that Flaming fist pansy killed my group for 2 Hours in every possible way. after flipping the table i EE Keepert a Thief/Mage , a Fighter/Cleric and a Single Elf Ranger i added 4 times , all with 25 in everything max level and just Invisible zoomed the mainquest in like an hour .. fuck LoB :P
