Question About How to Enter Bridgefort [Spoilers]

in Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear
Is the only way to access the fort siding with the argent camp/giving them the wardstone? if not, what are some other means of entry? It seems absurd for the only way into the fort to be to side with the enemy. Is there another way around/to brute force your way past?

    Look to the east of the crusader camp attacking Bridgefort.
