Starting party question

in Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear
Haven't bought it yet, just curious about how it all plays out at the beginning. Do you get to start with the exact same party you kill Sarevok with?

    I did, with the exception of Imoen being replaced by Safana. I assume Safana was chosen since I had previously had her in the party, I imagine maybe other people might get Skie or Alora.

    From what I gather Imoen is always replaced with Safana. She is ''the'' SoD thief apart from the new NPC. I read that if you have another thief than Imoen he/she will not be replaced.
    They all leave after the 1st dungeon and you have to recruit a new paty. Most of them will not be available anymore.

    Actually most of them seem to be available so far. Just not in the first place you start in, you have to travel a bit to pick up some of them.

    No, i had actually never played with Safana before in any BG1 playthrough, but yet i did have Montaron and Coran in my party at one point. So i think youre just stuck with Safana as your thief and if you dot like it "too bad"
