What are You Enjoying? (spoilers)

What little things have you enjoyed while playing SoD?

I like
...that fireballing corners is still super cheesy and effective.
...that Viconia killed the illithid with a sling (not as close as Tiax getting a crit on Sarevok and killing him in tutu).
...how my dwarf fighter/thief has 21 con and 18 dex thanks to new magic items.
...that it's a new Baldur's Gate game.
...that I can just make a silent Xzar and Monty in my party because of the party creator support.

I'm enjoying not playing it yet, if ever.

I fought countless liches in BG2 but it took SoD before I finally had the enjoyment of destroying a fylakterry.

    THE CONTROVERSY

Hooded man poking Caelar Argent right in front of her elite guard! ^_^

    I enjoy that

I have a compelling reason to go straight for Irenicus in BG2 rather than linger in Athkatla

I'm enjoying the increased number of female characters with a wide array of strong female personalities. Too bad the same thing can't be said for male characters, who are mostly shown as drunkards, cowards, traitors and generally evil personas.
Oh well, you can't have everything.

I enjoy the Siege of Dragonspear for what it is - great, new and important - Baldur's Gate adventure, that has flaws, but ultimately was worth the wait and price.

Finished SoD for the first time. Finally I can comment on it. :)
I liked how the expansion answers questions about the continuity I've never asked

What happened to all that money I collected.
Imoen learning magic between BG1 and BG2
Skie waking me up the first night. She's more likable now although still a looser.
Safana romance if you want to experience a bad relationship with a femme fatale.
Khalid romancing Jaheira. More about their history is revealed.
Irenicus wielding the dagger from Durlag's Tower.
Tiax from BG1 went to jail but...
Clara from BG2EE is found in his cell later.
Ashatiel revealing what Aerie used to look like before losing her wings.
Caelar fighting the devil from Icewind Dale on her own and winning. I never managed to make a scratch on it.

I giggled aloud on some of the jokes as well. It must have been really hard to write for a Baldur's Gate game but it works. There's a lot of lore to preserve. The characters have established personalities and manners of speaking. The story is set in stone–both the present and the past. The humor in the series is very specific. The cultural references in BG1 are old and obscure. Everything has to fit. And it never disappointed me.

Voice acting on all NPCs was great. I especially enjoyed listening to Neera in her quest but hearing old NPCs say more stuff was a satisfying experience as well. It felt like they were real people who can say anything at any moment. Not just listening to and old band release a new album but meet the band and realize that they are real people with lives.

Gameplay wise it felt like IWD:EE with companions. I like IWD and was part of the beta but having companions with motivations and personal quests is even better. SoD has its own formula which combines the best of both franchises. Side quests, multiple settlements and optional wilderness areas from BG1 and hard dungeons with better enemy placement and AI. Even some of the big dungeons felt optional like the
underground river and probably the temple of Bhaal
which is something BG2 with its huge scope did a lot.

Edit: How could I forget switching between shield and bow. Now I don't have to build the character around this limitation in the engine. And skipping (some) cutscenes at reload heavy moments for example before difficult battles. Oh, and regeneration equipment.
