New Areas and Shadows

I have a quick question for those who have messed with making new areas. What is the correct angle/dimensions to making a shadow for an object? I have been messing around with trees, rocks, buildings etc. and I can't seem to get a way to line up the shadow properly (and by properly I mean "like vanilla"). I am using Photoshop to edit the objects.

Is there something I am missing?
