Halfling F/T Proficiencies?

What do you think are the best starting proficiencies for a Halfling F/T, and how would you distribute them, considering that I also want to use a Short Bow and (eventually) Two-Weapon Fighting?

If your Charisma is high enough, I really recommend putting a starting point in daggers, since you can get a Dagger +1 in Candlekeep before the end of the prologue. And since you're part fighter, ignore the short bow and put a point in long bow instead. Sure, you can't use composite ones until you bring your Strength to 18, but you can still use regular ones, and they do more damage. It's not like you can get backstabs with ranged weapons anyway, so you don't have to worry about that fact.

I'd start with a point in Daggers, a point in Long Bow, and two in Two-Weapon Fighting, just to get that out of the way, and letting you take advantage if you happen to find another magical Dagger early on, or just stick a non-magical one there.

Two points in dagger, two in two weapon. Skip bows. Bows are for Mage/thief duals. You need to throw daggers

Boomerang Dagger in Melee Mode + Kudane = 4 natural APR a round ..add the fighter bonus and you hit max apr ...Mmmmmm~

Two points in dagger for sure for that sweet poison dagger.

Dagger + bow. Don't worry about dual-wielding right away, just be sure to have one or two pips in TWS before the XP cap.

Thank you, everyone! Think I'll go with Daggers and Bows at the start and then down the line go for the two-weapon fighting.

If one dual-wields the Boomerang dagger +2 in the off-hand and the +3 Firetooth dagger in the other, do you receive 4 APR also?

You can not put a throwing dagger in your offhand.

Not familiar with boomerang dagger... is that a BG1:EE thing ?

It is in Bg2/Bg2EE. This dagger is part of the limited wish quest, but you can get it without the quest by taking down the party that possesses this weapon. They are in the bridge district I believe, and on the 2nd floor of an inn.
