Khalid & Jaheira levels

in Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear
So both Jaheira and Khalid were the same level as they were when I left them in BG:EE. Which I think is a bit annoying, gameplay-wise (and you would probably imagine they'd done something after ditching them for Minsc & Dynaheir). Is this how it's meant to be? And if it is, is there a way of leveling them up through the console or something? I'll definitely not use a lvl 3 Khalid, though otherwise he'd have a spot in my team I suppose.

    There's an issue with NPCs catching up to protagonist's XP if they've been in party in BGEE.

    Until it's fixed in a patch, you can use C:SetGlobal("BD_JOINXP","LOCALS",0) console command to reset the variable (make sure you hover mouse cursor over NPC's selection circle or portrait when pressing Enter).

    You can also just set their XP to match your own in the console.

    You could just put them near the "back" for a few encounters and let them level up fairly quickly.
