v2.1 Update (Release Notes Attached)

Today we're pleased to bring you v2.1, which includes a number of fixes to BG:EE, BGII:EE, and the Siege of Dragonspear expansion. The full release notes are linked below, but here are the highlights:

- Difficulty options should now be preserved across saved games
- Using cloud saves should no longer cause game crashes in multiplayer
- Multiplayer in general should be more stable

We still have a few lingering issues to fix regarding multiplayer, as well as other areas of the game that need some more polish; those things will be addressed in one of our upcoming updates. In the meantime, enjoy this first batch of fixes!

Thanks. Few people should have been as anxious to see LoB fixed as me.

Looking forward to a weekend of exploring 2.0. Ehrm, 2.1, I mean.

Can we expect an update on Android as well? I have not been able to update it on my phone and it is said to be up to date.

Is there any way to revert this patch once the game has updated? BG2 now crashes when saving the game (LAN multiplayer with only me), and so it is completely unplayable until either this gets fixed or we can roll back the patch.

I'm having trouble identifying items with spells since the update. Is anyone else having this issue?

    @Dee
Would You like to elaborate your statement regarding polishing other areas of the game?
Is that mean the following update will address issues that worked very well in 1.3?
The missing sounds in UI, custom portrait and sound issue or graphical glitches for example.
I believe that we will get visibility into what's going into next update.

I am awfully sorry but I can't seem to get scs to work with patch 2.1, was fine with 2,0. I am using the the fixes posted by @subtledoctor but the AI improvement from scs still won't install ok.

Any advice? I have tried reinstalling BG2EE and got it to work with 2.0 but not 2.1.

I would like to know if there are plans to correct the gigantic mistake that it was the new journal interface. Not only we can't seperate completed quests from active ones, we no longer have access to several journal features, as the ones in the following image

Also, is there any though to returning to vanilla's artwork? Seriously, the current GUI artwork for BG2 has bland buttons, far too clean with little detail and each window seems like a pop-up. In the vanilla you had a huge detailed artwork that closed all the borders, which contributed to the 'feel' of the game

Also, more options for the GUI would be great. Personally, I find it tiresome to have a transparent text box where conversations occur and at the same time being able to see what is behind it. If I'm reading text or a log of the game, having a somewhat transparent background that allows us to see the game's scenario is counter-productive. Having an option to remove that transparency would be great.

Only thing I see now? How did you manage to have three different kits in there? o.O

wtf is that ui change with more bugs? u worse than original BI , not even mention the EA, $19.9 can buy 3A class game, not a trash like SoD.

This screenshot isn't mine, it is from another member of the foruns. Merely used it to represent the beautiful artwork of the vanilla version that was lost with the Enhanced Edition and the constant changes Beamdog is doing ;)

Excuse me, how do we roll back to version 1.3? The new UI changes in 2.0 and above are absolutely terrible, and make the game excruciating to play.

In the Steam version, select the game, go to properties (right button) and in the Betas tab select the 1.3 option. Don't know how to do it in the beamdog version

Ask Beamdog for a Steam key and then revert with Steam.

Will this update ever make it to the Apple Store? (Mac version; I suppose others would ask the same about the iPad version.) Or will 2.0? Neither has yet.

Is there an ETA on v2.1.x or v2.2? I've been enjoying my current BG1 playthrough, but I'm curious if I should go ahead and start installing mods on my BG2 game or hold off for a bit longer.
