BG and SOD crashing at the beginning on Mac OS X El Capitan

With BG the game crashes immediately after character creation.

With SOG the game crashes when attempting to save the game at any point.


I am running Mac OS X El Capitan 10.11.4, I have no mods. Reinstalling the game does not help. The latest update does not help.

    I am having similar issues with running the game on El Capitan, but for me its the launcher. I click "Launch" and it just shuts down. It was working fine before the update.

    I had the same problem, but fixed it by running the Balder's Gate Launcher and choosing the "repair installation" option in the menu

    The only option I get in either the Baldur's Gate Launcher or the Siege of Dragonspear Launcher is "Launch". Where do I find the "repair installation" option? Thanks!
