For the two Assassins creed pictures, I'm thinking I could make an Elf assassin and archer and role play them as evil twins or something. I kind of have too many archer pictures now.
@Syntia13 Thanks! Could you please tone down a bit the green in the eyes and especially the tunic's green / purple? Is kind of too strong . And could I have him with the original grey eyes as well?
Mungri's dagger assassin is awesome indeed, looking forward to your version (if you ever edit it).
@Awong124Can someone make an alternate of Skie such that she doesn't look like a middle aged woman? Out of curiosity (I'm not obligating myself to do anything here, just so we're clear ;P ), how would you like that accomplished? Somehow manipulating the existing picture, or photo-shopping an entirely different face in the picture? And how old IS Skie anyway? I don't remember if it was mentioned in the game... @Oxford_Guy There's your elf
@Syntia13 - BTW very minor request, could you also provide a copy of the original human version (normal ears and eyes, though they're great on the elf version), but without the mustache, as I would probably like to use this image for other CHARNAMEs too (e.g. a Cavalier, Undead Hunter for when I get bored of playing an evil party...)? That would be just perfect, to have both sets! Thanks again.
And now, ladies and gentlemen, I give you something I'm ridiculously proud of.
Xan. You know Xan, the fatalistic enchanter. His original picture was too smudged and shadowed for me to even try repainting it, so I looked for a vaguely similar male face on the net, and worked from there. In fact, I used three different faces :
(one for the eyes, one for the jaw shadows, one for the rest), and I blackmailed my in-law into lending me his hands. One ring I drew myself, the other I photoshopped.
What I learnt making this: - that multiplying one layer can lead to awesome effects, - how to draw wrinkles - that I suck at drawing jewelry. (And anything metal in general)
All in all, a very pleasant experience!
So, have a new Xan, everyone!
Dang, I'm pleased with myself! XD I think I deserve a little break and some ice-cream. On to the fridge! ;D
@Kirkor Wow, brother! Yes, you definitely went a bit extreme with the nose-job. Branwen could sue you for medical error. Unless she was going for the BG2 elven look, in such case she'll rope you in for surgery of her eyes and ears as well. ;P Regarding Imoen, I heard that said about her a few times already. Personally I don't see it, but I can't tell people's ages (except for the basic 'kid, very old, in-between' scale) anyway, so that might be the reason. Do you have any ideas how to make her look younger? She has no wrinkles to lift, so I'm a bit at a loss here.
Hey, I didn't think, that I screwed up her nose THAT bad. And I still don't really see it :O Well, that's probably why I rarely do any artwork or photoshop... And it's also because I'm never fully satisfied with my work... And because I'm lazy :P Anyway. I think it would be hard to make Imoen look younger. I think it's all about skin. It should be very smooth and "tensed", I guess. Skin on her BG1 portrait is not so tense (I realy don't know how to describe it in english, but I hope you catch my draft - jej skóra powinna być bardziej "jędrna" i "napięta" - jak w reklamach kremów na noc ;p) Generally, I'm talking about Imoen's skin around her mouth (especially beneath it). She needs a serious lifting :P
Oh BTW. My old photoshopped picture. Another babe-ish lady to collection.

Very good! *Much* better than the original portrait
Cool Xan! His pose makes me want to superimpose some string puppets from his hands, something comical to offset his serious expression. He reminds me of James Callis for some reason.
That's a really cool Lady Aribeth, most pictures of her look like stills from softcore porn.
Another alternate portrait for Aerie. Some way I feel that the picture is just fit for her...
Btw, very like drawning-style of portrait, it is may come unnoticed at the resized version like this, but original picture has something common with original IWD portrait (and new BG:EE portrait).
Can someone make some more natural looking man for the warriors or evil wizards instead of emo younglings looking a bit "angry"? No disrespect, i dont draw or photoshop these kind of images myself just a suggestions to you who like them also more... believable looking:D
@Syntia13 Excellent alternative portrait of Xan. However, I noticed you said the original face was too smudged and you had to look for similar faces on the internet. If you need face references again, try looking at the guy in this video. http://blip.tv/intel-software-network-tv/visualize-this-45-stan-melax-4662945 This is a video interview with Stan Melax, a graphics programmer who worked at Bioware. He was the original portrait model for Xan. I usually watch this video when I'm trying to draw Xan and I need a visual reference.
@Syntia13 I think this Xan face fits BG portrait artstyles completely, thanks fo sharing!
I always wondered if there is a way to remove his hanging hands though. As @Moomintroll said, they do feel quite comical... Nevertheless, this is an excellent portrait!
@KirkorHey, I didn't think, that I screwed up her nose THAT bad. And I still don't really see it Well, her nose is on the 'very skinny' side now, but it's matter of taste, and thus un-discussable. Generally, I'm talking about Imoen's skin around her mouth (especially beneath it). She needs a serious lifting :P Ah, now we're talking! I'll take an airbrush to Imie's pic this weekend and see if that sagging skin looks any better after the treatment. That's a nice shine you put on this armor. Thumbs up!
@Moomintroll Thanks! Hee! I assume that he's in the middle of casting a spell, which might explain the extreme light/shadow contrast (hence the burning hands in my picture), but now that you said it, I can't unsee it: Xan the Master Puppeteer! XD
@NWN_babaYagaCan someone make some more natural looking man for the warriors or evil wizards instead of emo younglings looking a bit "angry"? Are you talking about any of my pictures in particular, or just custom made portraits in general? I can't speak for other people, but I make my PC's young, because Gorion's ward is 20 years old. That young even for human, and for other races it's almost infancy. As for 'emo'... uh, I can't help you there, as I don't really know what 'emo' means. There is no corresponding word or concept in my language, and the context in which I see it used is inconclusive. Is a frowning person emo? Is serious one? Is 'emo' a synonym for 'not smiling?' (Though if that were the case, 80% of BG NPCs would fall under this label, thus making it canon . About evil warriors/wizards - there isn't really any definite way to show one's evilness in a portrait; True, I have a rogue PC portrait in the works that (I think) most people will instantly recognize as chaotic evil, but that's just because it's a very iconic image. With a random stranger's face, alignment doesn't show. I once played an evil cleric, and I purposefully picked the most angelic-looking picture I could find (blond locks, blue innocent eyes, pink round cheeks, all the works), and I tried to play him as the 'villain with good publicity', who relied greatly on his looks to get away with most revolting misdeeds. So it's all in the player's mind, really. Either way, I have several stock photos picked which I intend to make into portraits; there is one or two of middle age people. Maybe you'll like one of them? (Might be some time before I get to them though - my 'to do' list is long, and I keep adding random stuff in the middle).
@LadyEibhilinRhett Thank you! I always wondered if there is a way to remove his hanging hands though. Not a problem:
Now that I don't need the room to accommodate his hands, the picture can be cropped to focus more on Xan's face, but I decided to leave that to your/any other potential user's personal taste.
I mean exactly that one above my post as an example. When i judge this guy from his look only i say he is a very soft self loving dude who has more clue about shaving his skin as to inflict serious pain or cast fireballs randomly into unprotected villages to enjoy the screams of the victims... and if he´s evil it´s the hannibal rising casted type of guy. But it´s an elf anyway right?
and i like your style realy, it´s nothing against how you can draw or manipulate stuff;)

Mungri's dagger assassin is awesome indeed, looking forward to your version (if you ever edit it).
Needed to use a lot of paints spraycan to get rid of the writing and smooth out the image on the second one.
@Oxford_Guy There's your elf
@Mungri Thank you very much! *eyes the assassin for editing and cropping potential* Thank you very much indeed!
@Koson *headdesk* All right, but that's the last one this month, ok? I have few dozen other pics to mess up. http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Syntia13/Baldur s Gate stuff/kosonB.png http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Syntia13/Baldur s Gate stuff/kosonA.png
@Cobbweb ROTFL! This is great! We need someone to make a mod with a crazy, cat loving druid NPC with this as his portrait!
Ok, if anyone was curious what the model for my 'One Face' project looks like, here he is, surrounded by his eight alternate selves:
Interesting!

But as far as I remember, I didn't finish it. It still needs some tweaks here and there (as I said - I'm lazy).

I feel embarrassed to be looking at that!
