NPC items in from BG:EE to SoD

in Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear
What happens to items equipped on my party NPC when they won't join me in SoD? The items in their inventory ends up in the player stash, but not their equipped items (from what I could see). From what I have read on the forums the NPC will still have their items when they join you again. I want some items I had equipped on Coran but he decided not to go with me

    items they have equipped are lost so if you want to keep some items you will have to unequip it before they leave

    Don't those items go to the party chest? The one that is in the Ducal Palace and then in each camp?

    From what I could see they don't. Only what they have in their inventory (not equipped) goes into it. I might be wrong though, I'm not 100% sure what Items some had equipped and which were not. I'll have to wait until I meet Khalid and Jahira again. And they better be joinable and have their previous equipment. Khalid has the gauntlets of dexterity and Corwin needs them....for...a..thing
