Soloing SoD & Final Battle - who has done it with what char? (Spoliers)

Hi Guys, I have soloed the game on core-rules with a FMT and although it is perfectly doable I found it tedious at times because of the sheer amount of enemies you have to face. As a result, I had to rely much more on external ressources such as staves, wands and potions than I had in my solo runs through BG, BG2 and even ToB. In this regard, to me going through SoD felt more like going through IWD & IWD2 than it felt like BG. Less talk, more fight.
At the moment I am stuck in the final battle, unable to dish out enough damage to get him beyond "badly injured".
What where your impressions soloing the sequel, what character did you use on what difficulty and how did you handle the final battle?

I recommend you to use multiple lower resistance on Belhi and quickly spam webs after that. Having low AC won't help you then you stuck in web! Also don't forget that he immune to +1+2 weapons
- BG/BG2: Sorcerer, Blade, F/T, F/M, F/M/T, Shadowdancer (only till the end of BG)
Vanilla on Insane/Core (can't remember)
- BG: Paladin, Thief, Fighter
- SoD: Sorcerer, Shadowdancer>Fighter
- BG2: Sorcerer (ToB included), F/M, Blade
I'll try a solo run on LoB soon, I already attemped it but it kept resetting to Insane.
EDIT: I also solo'd with many "non conventional" chars I edited with the Keeper to look like characters I read of in some books or seen in a movie, but they don't count
If your damage is lacking just dual wield good weapons, chuck oil of speed and Potion of Power/Heroism, combine that with DuHM or ST potion.
Does F/M/T have level 5 spells in SoD?
You could also call some hasted skeletons if that's the case.
The above tactic works well even on LoB solo.
