Most stable version these days

AlonsoAlonso Member Posts: 806
Just installed BG2EE 2.1 (after a quick look at 1.2). I'm loving the new ideas and improvements, but I see there's much room for refinement and, unfortunately, lots of bugs. For the time being, I would like to stick with some stable version, and maybe check unchartered waters in the future. So, what would be the most stable version of BG2EE that one can play right now? If possible, I'd like to go back to 2.0, but if that's too unstable also, I wouldn't mind staying with 1.x for a while.

Of course, assuming it is actually possible to get it, otherwise it wouldn't be much use.

1.3 is stable enough and is available through steam under beta section. It is not beta per se, it just is available there. If you bought from beamdog, you may ask for a steamkey from beamdog support via email.

Anyway i'm playing with 2.1 and not even a bug occured yet.
I can't talk about multiplayer, though.

I bought it from GOG (just 7 bucks!), but I can't find any link to earlier versions in their website. I sent them a message asking them about it.

Me neither, haven't tried multiplayer. But I'm playing 2.1.63.2 and bugs are all around the place. Actually, the game just crashed as I was writing this. I have only played the Black Pits so far and you get the first bug even before the game starts. In the intro movie you get some odd text at the bottom of the screen that doesn't make any sense there. From there, it goes downhill. At first I was going to create a few bug reports, but when I realized that there are dozens of them I decided to leave it and try something else.
