in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
Is there a "simple" way of changing your familiar type via EEkeeper and if so how do you remove the old familiar
from backpack?

    Just cast the "Find Stranger" spell.

    Maybe can kick the familiar out of your pack and then export the character? Just end up with bonus HP when you summon another.

    No unfourtunately, AFAIK it causes problems when you unpack your familiar and if its type does not match your current alignment. You can use eekeeper to change your alignment, though. If you want a kitty cat you need to switch to chaotic neutral.

    Just switch the 2 .cre files in the override folder.
