Marek's poison - does it still fire in SoD?

I just finished off Sarevok and jumped right into SoD with my Charname. I did the old trick with the third book of wisdom, expecting to be off the hook once I warped into the new game like in the olden days of BG2 imports, but lo and behold, all the quests, including Marek's are still there, unfulfilled. My question is: Am I boned? Is the poison, now apparently uncurable, still buried in some variable somewhere, just waiting to belly-up me ten days into the game? That would be a real downer.

Well, all the quests have since disappeared, as one would expect, but I swear that I saw them there clear as day when I first opened up the quest. I guess I'll have to console/shadowkeep my way out of this, in the worst case.
