Noise Pollution in Baldur's Gate!

So what is up with the loud and repetitious metallic clanging sound in the first zone of Baldur's Gate where the actual gate and Sorcererous Sundries is? It's loud, repetitious, and obnoxious. I don't remember this being in the original. Was this done on purpose? Why? Is there any way to stop it?

    What is your game version, I thought it was fixed.

    Currently playing SoD enhanced version of BG:EE, and I heard none of those. I did hear the crazy "construction noise" long time ago and supposedly fixed.
