Problem importing

RythgarRythgar Member Posts: 101
Upon importing the character into SoD that I previously finished SoD with, all her gear disappears. All the levels, spells, stats and whatnot are correct, but all the items are gone. Am I doing something wrong? Is it an intentional removal of items?

    Importing into what? SoD? BG2:EE?

if you import a char into BG2:EE you loose all items, that is part of the story.

With the exception of the either the Helm of Balduran or the Claw/Horn of Kazgaroth. It's been a while but I think you can take one of those with you into BG2.

In the original BG2 and in pre v2.0 BG2EE there where two table for items that would carry over (if you don't have any of the items in either table or start a new game you get the Helm of Balduran and the Chain Mail +3). You would still lose them at first, but you can find them in Chateau Irenicus (on the Duergar leader ind in a chest if memory serves)
The lsit I'm talking about is here:

There are also some items in SoD that carry over and will be found somewhere (I lack deatisl here)

Oh, the golden Pantaloons also carry over and can be found together with a +1 dagger =P

    @Arcanis

I apologize, I meant importing back into SoD for a second playthrough.

I do not know if it is a bug, but i did not find it.

You guys are absolutely correct, and I should have been more specific in the OP. I'm trying to import into SoD with the character I already used to beat it once. Even her familiar vanishes.

@LoveViconia I believe the transferred item is suppose to be in Iranicus' room near the end of the first floor of the dungeon. If it's not there, then I honestly have no idea.

I was wondering if someone had asked about this yet. Because yeah, importing into SOD costs you your gear, and I was hoping there was a way to deal with it.

Edit: Hold up, if you choose "import game" instead of "new game" and import from there, then that works.

You do find helm of Balduran early, in Irenicus dungeon.
The sad thing is you cant import stats of other companions.
I gave Edwin intelligence tome, so he had 19 int, now in bg 2 ee he again has only 18.
Also gave tome of constitution to Dorn, but his stats messed up as well, importing from BG EE to SOD

It's always been that way. Because of changes to the engine between BG1 and BG2 only CHARNAME can be imported.

I always use EEkeeper (shadowkeeper before) to adjust the levels to where I left them. This has been satisfactoy thusfar.

How has this discussion been so thoroughly derailed from talking about SOD? Guess people are more interested in talking about Irenicus' Dungeon?

The OP originally asked about "SoA". We later found out that they meant SoD, and they edited the original post, but by then it was too late.
