More likely fail save vs Spell or Wand?

In general throughout Baldur's Gate 1 and Siege of dragonspear what type of saving throw are the opponents most likely to fail the majority of the time?

It seems like most opponents make their saving throws more often than not.

Are the odds in favor of an enemy failing they're saving throw against my Fireball spell ( save vs. Spell), or against the Fireball cast from my wand of Fire (save vs. wand)?

I think I am wording this rather poorly, but hopefully I'm still getting my question across

They're more likely to fail vs. spells. Here's a list of monster stats from BG2: http://www.gamefaqs.com/pc/258273-baldurs-gate-ii-shadows-of-amn/faqs/27144 (I don't know where to find one for BG1, much less SoD), and you can see that the save vs. spells is almost always higher. For playable classes the save vs. spells is always higher by 1, but there's some variation on this among monsters.
