Who should I take for an evil party thief?

in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
I plan on going for 1 Rep so Neutrals will leave, so it comes down to which thief is better:
1. Imoen
2. Hexxat

Imoen has great mage powers which work well next to edwin while Hexxat gains thief HLAs and has higher stats.
Who should I choose?

    Hexxat is the better thief, period. Imoen is a mage with the ability to remove traps and open locks.

    It's mage or thief. I'll pick mage, but it really boils down to personal preference and playstyle.

    will imoen even stay around at 1 rep? she is neutral good, and their breaking point is 2, although I don't recall if she is like sarevok and will stay around indefinitely

    From what I recall, Imoen will never leave regardless of what you do. Sisterly love is eternal.
