That this information is not included in the manuals has always been a point of complaint for me. It is material of such importance that Bioware should have at least suggested that more complete information should be researched in ADD 2nd Edition Handbook. [I have 4th Ed manuals and have never been quite sure about many BG things]
It would have been so easy to go first-class from the beginning and would have only added maybe one whole day of labor costs. In general, I think, Character Creation may be rather more important in Video when I am going to spend @100-500hours interacting with computer as opposed to PnP when I have the fun of group interaction no matter what kind of a Klutzmatic Moron I am playing.
For example: A Human Fighter with 18 in Strength-Dex-Con plus @14+ Wisdom earns a Saving Throw versus Paralysis/Poison/Death [at Level 1-2] of ~14~. Compared that to a Dwarven Fighter-Cleric with the same Stats which earns a Saving Throw against Paralysis/Poison/Death at Level 1-3 of ~5~. HUGE!!
So here is a link to a thread from 2014 with the info.

I am also wondering if moderators think this might be appropriate for New Players category ???

A quick note: Wisdom doesn't grant a saving throw bonus in BG; the bonus that's described in the old 2e rulebooks was never implemented.
The "Shorty Save" bonus that dwarves, gnomes, and halflings receive from Constitution is implemented, though. There's a table on page 13 of the Adventurer's Guide that breaks it down.
