BG2 Background Music delayed

For some odd reasons, when entering new areas in bg2ee, the background music usually doesn't play until a long delay later, more often which I am already half way done and soon to leave the area. This ends up with me mostly not hearing much background music of game areas. Is anyone else experiencing this or is it just me? Is it caused by mods?

    This happens to me also, and happened to me in the original BG2, too. Anybody knows why?

    That's probably intended. Many soundtracks have one or more "silent" segments at the beginning of their music files. Each segment lasts about one minute.

    If you want to have shorter silence segments in all soundtracks you can unpack the attached zip file into the "music" subfolder of the game. It reduces silence to about 10 seconds.

    this is just sane design. you want to prevent abrupt changes of tracks when changing areas quickly.
