Imoen multiclassing trouble

Okay, so I multiclassed Imoen at level six, and suffered without a trapfinder until she got he theif skills back, but now her trapfinding is all the way back a 10! Is that supposed to happen? What is the point of multiclassing if it leaves her useless as a theif? Do I need to level up again? I'm about to tackle Durlag's tower, and I don't want to go in there without a trapfinder...
