BG2 in DVD

in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
Hi All,
I had BG2 bought for me on DVD and was playing away happily until I went to do the battle with Irenicus in the asylum. I was teleported with the inmates to the chamber but Irenicus isnt there so no battle. Any ideas?

    Once you have spoken to everyone he should spawn. Alternatively you can attack any inmate, it'll make him spawn instantly.

    My very rusty memory is telling me that something similar happened to me once - I think it's possible to screw up the encounter with the jailor that you meet when you first arrive on that floor to release the inmates (I think I killed him before he could initiate conversation). Whatever the problem was, I had to reload and replay that encounter.
